Yacht Charter

Our Sigma 38 sailing yacht - Torbellin - is ideal for those wishing to charter off the South-East coast of England, or head to the continent for a weekend break.  Torbellin comes complete with all the mod-cons in the galley - electric hob and oven, fridge, kettle and toaster - as well as a functional toilet, basin and hand shower.

When you charter a yacht with Heron Sailing you can rest assured that we put safety first, without compromising on comfort.  Torbellin is fully MCA coded, has commercial insurance and comes with an RYA-qualified skipper.  Once aboard, charterers will be given a full safety briefing by the skipper.  Torbellin boasts a full complement of sails, including spinnaker, which is set on a fractional rig.

Booking Procedure

  • Complete the online Enquiry Form or call us on 020 8144 7950 to discuss requirements.
  • Heron Sailing will then email across the Invoice and Charter Agreement.
  • Make payment and return the completed Charter Agreement.

A 25% booking deposit must be made in order to secure the booking.  Any outstanding balance must be paid 6 weeks prior to charter.  If booking is made within 6 weeks of the charter, the full balance must be paid upon booking.


Handover and Return

  • Handover occurs at 09:00 with return set at 16:00
  • Charterers have the option of booking an extra evening and joining Torbellin from 18:00 the day before Handover.
  • Handover typically occurs at Ramsgate Marina.
Charterers will receive the vessel in a clean and well presented manner with fuel and water and we expect it to be returned in the same condition.  Any cost to return the vessel to this condition will be taken from the charterers' deposit.  You will be given a full safety briefing aboard by the skipper.


Insurance

Our yachts have fully comprehensive insurance against usual risks, covering all British coastal waters and the English Channel from The Elbe to Brest.  Charterers are advised to take out private insurance against cancellation, injury, personal belongings and personal liability.
